These are more or less my first 'proper' shots since getting a DSLR camera. Comments are much appreciated =)
![]() The above shot was taken using a 70-200mm telephoto lens from a viewpoint on top of Table Mountain. ![]() The above shot was also taken using the same telephoto lens. It was taken at Inverdoon Game Reserve which is about a 2 hour drive out of Cape Town. ![]() This photo was taken using the D80 kit lens (18-135mm) at False Bay. It was just before I embarked on a boat trip to Seal Island, which, as it's name suggests, is full of seals. As for post processing I've used Curves to touch up the photo a bit, but nothing too drastic. More photos to come! Last edited by navyseal2004; 5th January 2008 at 01:47 PM. |

![]() This photo was taken using the kit lens. It is of Seal Island which is located a few miles off False Bay. ![]() This photo was taken at the foot of table mountain using the telephoto lens. ![]() This photo was taken at the top of Table Mountain using the kit lens. I'd like to point out that interestingly, the wildlife here are so used the presence of people that they are not easily frightened. It thus gives you more opportunities to take good shots =) |

Hi there. I went to Cape Town in Sep 2007. Also, I went to the places you visited as shown in your photos. Just wondering...did you take up tour package from Romers Tour?

Nice Shots. Like photo 4 best, the one with the balcony jutting out, showing the city below.
Was in Cape Town 2 years back, only had time to go to Table Mountain. Such a different feeling at the top of the mountain. Could see the clouds just floating over the peak, and down into the bay. I engaged, through the hotel, a driver to brig me there and back. Found out that he represented South Africa in Rugby. Unfortunately, it was during the Apartheid era, and he could only play in the "Blacks" league. Only brought a PnS, regret! |

You mean photo 6? =P
The clouds floating over peak must've been a sight to behold. And I guess your experience with your driver just shows how interesting the South African people are. Awesome Country =D Last edited by navyseal2004; 6th January 2008 at 01:03 AM. |
