Default first attempt at night shots with long shutter speed

hi...just some photos from an amateur photographer played around with shutter speed...any comments are welcomed ....
photos unedited except resizing


aperture : f/8 , shutter speed : 6 sec


aperture : f/8 , shutter speed : 10 sec


aperture : f/8 , shutter speed : 15 sec

The last one works the best for me.....liked especially how the colours get reflected off the surface of the S'pore river...nice one....the top 2 is just a tad too overexposed for my comfort thou....but good job....!!!

nice third shot, seems a bit soft and barrel distortion just irks me. don't worree i get them in my shots too and try to minimise it in photoshop eheh..

good effort!

good tries for a first attempt. First shot is overexposed. Second shot is nice but try to avoid getting too much of the barricade into the frame and the hot spot on the top left burning in is quite a spoiler.

Your third shot isn't really affected by barrel distortion, just that the horizon is tilted. If it is meant to be level, make sure it is level else it'll spoil the whole picture. Composition is also quite imbalanced, maybe you should move the frame more to the left.

yes i agree first shot was overexposed lol.

2nd shot...will take note! haha

3rd shot...yes i think i have a problem with imbalance..lol...maybe i shd have bought a tripod with a bubble level

i got a shot with the entire city buldings landscape visible haha but oh well i guess will just keep it for my own reference...lol
