Default Osaka/Kyoto Trip :)

Hey guys.. Still rather new to the forums and photography in general, just got a F40Fd before I left for Japan, and here are some of the nicer photos (I think) from all the photos I shot there... enjoy! Do comment on how I may improve if possible, still looking to better how I compose my photos, heh.

paper lanterns
created by children in Arashiyama, Kyoto. Displayed at the Hankyu Railways Arashiyama Station.

Ryoan-ji Temple
one of the sites listed under the UNESCO sites in Ancient Kyoto. Porch next to the famous zen garden with 15 stones, considered a Japanese national treasure.

Kinkaku-ji
the Golden Pavilion Temple in Kyoto, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

wintry sunset
a shot of sunset at the Daigo-ji in Kyoto

pink clouds and blue skies
a road scene in Uji, Kyoto.

sunset carpark
outside the Byodo-in, in Uji, Kyoto.

train station
shot at the Inari train station in Kyoto. (JR Nara Line)

colour amid the darkened skies
the colours look almost surreal against the dark grey clouds.

storm-end sunlight
street in Inari, Kyoto.

gates
one of the many Japanese gateways that pepper the slope of shrines in Inari, Kyoto

street lamps

empty roads lead home
roads in Nara, Kyoto, within residential zones next to the Nara Park.

daisies in the Japanese winter
glimmering golden.

bamboo fences make good neighbours
a house in Nara, Kyoto

lone hut amid the wilderness
shot at Nara Park, Nara, Kyoto. I can see the smoke rising as the hunter returns home to cook his dinner...

winter sonata
Japan is filled with many trees that look like this in winter, picturesque.

standing strong in winter
these maple trees are still in autumn, shedding their leaves even into winter

Dotonbori River
night shot, with the flashing neon signs by the river, which the famous Dotonbori nightlife area is centred around. Shot in Osaka, Japan.

street scene at Dotonbori
Shot at night in Osaka, Japan.

Dotonbori in daylight
away from the shops and nightlife, the residential areas provide great contrast to the area, especially during the day.

Looks like you visited many sites in Osaka and Kyoto. I only managed to visit Kiyomizu Temple and Osaka Castle...
