Default Clockwise, counter-clockwise??

This might not be a problem for some. Is it just me, or does all Olympus lens go counter-clockwise to zoom in? I have only got 1 Olympus branded lens (70-300) and it goes counter-clockwise to zoom in. Where as my other lens, the L1 kit lens goes clockwise. I remember my old Nikon and Sigma lenses do the same thing. Not sure about the other brands.

For those with third party lenses, or just migrated to Olympus. Does it feel like you have two left hands?

Good thing you can set the focus direction on the E3.

Yup... counter clockwise zooming on all oly lens...
I think u can set focus direction on all oly dslr... i know u can on the 410 and 510. I'm sure the 300/330 should have them too.

and ya... initially i did feel i didn't have enough hands... but it'll something to get used to.

You can change the setting in your camera. I have seen the setting but dont bother changing because I auto focus alot.
I see that setting in E-330 and also in E-3. It is there, read the manual or User Guide.

Guys, you are talking about the focusing by wire ring, which can be set in the manual of the camera. But the zoom ring cannot.

NOTE : With the new non "focus by wire" lenses like the 12-60mm SWD, this setting within the camera no longer works as focusing now is mechanical. Thought you guys should know just in case. Cheers.

Therefore, like drakon09 has said, all zooming rings are anti clockwise. Cheers.

Aiyoh, my friend... different company mah... haven't you heard? Want to be different? Tamron zoom at one time was in and out instead... that was scarier... clockwise and counter clockwise for focusing, pulling in and out for zooming... that was VERY confusing when I first played with it, and in the end, did not buy it...
