Why so many ppl selling 50/1.4?

Just wondering if there's any particular reason as this is probably going to be my next lens... Is it a lens thing or simply cos everyone still have leftover from bonus so upgrading to 50L?

Just thought there's a trend going on lor... or everyone decided that its better to just stick to the 50/1.8

I've actually heard many of my friends who sold the 50mm after buying them and keeping them for a while. Reason? They said that they read somewhere that 50mm is the lens best to have when picking up photography, so they can learn about composition and such. End up, they enjoy shooting wide or tele more ... so sell lor. BUt then there may be some selling to upgrade. Don't worry too much. This 'trend' happens every now and then, to lenses and cameras. Causes much panic but usually no harm done.

No leh i just bought the 50/1.4 and enjoying it.. Think its just a coincedence.. Just like today a lot of ppl queue up for cha kway teow at hawker center but tomolo nobody eating...

agreed. btw i didnt like the 50mm on a 1.6x at all..

I love my 50F1.4...it was my first lens on my first DSLR and I took many nice pics (by my standards) of my family n frens...

the first love is always the most unforgettable...dun think I will sell mine unless I can afford the 50F1.2L...

I think maybe it's due to the recent leak of 50/1.4's 3rd quarter financial losses, so people are dumping them on the open market. But personally, I think the 50/1.4's fundamentals are strong so I'm holding on to mine. If fact, if their prices keep falling, I might even buy a few more to resell when the market recovers.

I bought it as my first lens when I was using film back then. I loved the big aperture especially when i used ISO 100-400 films typically. In my opinion it is very capable of performing in low light, just that the focusing is a bit slow compared to my other lenses but I still like that lens alot. Dont intend to sell anytime soon.

I think its a fine lens too, but the 28 and 85 have got me covered for now... Maybe after my wedding
