They make a lot of different lenses -- you will have to be more specific. Which lens are you looking at?

Build
Tokina>sigma>tamron

Lens performance
Tamron>sigma>tokina

AF speed
Sigma>Tamron=Tokina

These are just my opinions.

Hope it helps

For 17-50mm, my preference (and the general consensus, if i may say so) is for the Tamron. And if you care to do a search, there's tons of material on lenses in this range all over the Net.

Here's a shootout for all the three 3rd party f2.8 lens. It's in Chinese though, but very detailed. Actually just see the pics and you can know the outcome liao!

Bo bian. There are too many lens to name. Each brand have their trade mark lens. So I can only generalise...

For 70-200mm, sigma is not too bad, but sigma EX coating flakes easily. If you plan to get this range, I will recommend you to get the original manufacturer's version(Aka Nikon, Canon etc..)

If I am not wrong, the price difference is not that great.

Hope this helps..

Sigma 18-200mm f3.5-6.3 DC OS HSM - Good lens, fast AF even in low light.
Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 - Superb lens, good colours and sharp.

Both lens, used for weddings.

Sry, I forget to mention that the price difference I am saying is refering to second hand prices.

I love Sigma for it's HSM, huge range of lenses - there must be one that suits your need.

I love Tokina for it's built quality, solid feel and value for money. Also, the focus ring clutch mechanism is

And what about Tamron - if you hate weight, you would love Tamron. But I dislike the fact that their lenses' AF ring turns in action.
