the bounce card can be re orientated to the side of the flash and velcro down. the card is held onto the flash gun by a velcro strap that goes around the head of the flash gun and a soft sponge on the bottom of the mounting surface allow the card to rest firmly on the uneven surface of the flash gun head be it the back (normal shooting) or the side (portrait shooting)
my 1st DIY card the mounting base was too big for it to rotate and attached to the side for portrait mode and the card was smaller also. will post the setup for portrait mode later tonight ![]() |

very easy to make also, but its soft and shape easily, easily deformed if squashed inside bag lol used to make a bounce card out of reflective white board paper. end of the day the card was very much crushed inside my bag lol, so decide to op for something harder and not prone to squashing and crushing lol and still looks nice

Caleb,
Care to share what kinda foam paper you used? Better still, where can I get it? I'm gonna try using 4R printing paper from Epson (got from buying some printer previously). Probably, not as "formable" but I guess end of the day, similar effect can be achieved. Cheers, Ben |

the bounce + diffuser set up will cost alot of light lost, so the flash has to work alot harder.
while it may give you the effect you want, for the same aperture and iso setting, the re-cycling time will be much longer (max. duration will be as if at full flash) and you have to let it cool down.

(1.5mm if u really measure) white acrylic approx $2.50 , the hinge made with 3mm thk clear acrylic approx $2.80, a pack of M4 acrylic bolt and nut approx $5, a bottle of acrylic cement or glue approx $5, 3mm triangle acrylic for strengthening the glue area approx $2-3, velcro strap bought from home fix DIY (the velcro is for cable/wires management) approx $10 per pack of 50 strap. the hinge is made using 4 small piece of clear 3mm acrylic, the center 2 pieces are glue together, the other 2 piece is use to sandwich the center piece and a 4mm hole is drill thru all 4 piece for the M4 acrylic bolt and nut to go thru, use some glue to permanently fix the nut on one end so that leave your bolt the only free moving part of the hinge, this way u can bend the hinge up and down without loosening the bolt easily improvement suggestion if u want to DIY one also, if u have bicycle at home, get a punctured tire inner tube and cut a section out. the rubber can serve as a super wide big rubber band that u can use to strap your DIY card on or even the IKEA diffuser idea by another CS (which i think is super cool also, cos super cheap and super simple to do) a rubber band can help u twist and turn your DIY faster and since its from your unwanted old punctured tire it can be considered FREE! intend to enhance my DIY by combining the idea of using the IKEA rationall mat (which i think is a better diffuser than the one i salvaged)
