Why thumbs down? If it's free, the service will be abused.

Sensor cleaning alone is S$21 the free offer ended years ago. General servicing is total overhaul.

Didnt know that cleaning of sensor/lens is not FOC if there's still warranty.

So that means only calibration under warranty it's free?

Unless your camera is screwed up right out of the box when you first take it out, expect that no servicing will be free. Of course you need your receipt to prove the date of purchase...

Why would you want to clean your 50mm? Why not just live with it...

$21 for sensor cleaning is still considered cheap, compared to overseas.

Doesn't matter. Your 50 probably doesn't have as much dust as mine anyway. If it doesn't affect image quality (and it shouldn't) don't be itchyhanded and open up the lens. I had to send my 35 f/2 for AF motor repairs, and it came back to me misaligned. That's what can happen to any lens when you open it up.

Ic... thanks for the great advice. Ya at wide open F1.8-2.8 surely wont affect the image at all.

Actually, service at CSC is subjective to the equipment you carry. All the 1/5-series users should know what I am talking about.

Wide open or stopped down, no difference. The dust that will show up is dust that has found its way onto your sensor.
