I have two issues.
1. When I switch the camera on and off, the camera tells me the sensor clean is running but I hear nothing whatsoever. Is it working? 2. The ISO has Auto, 200 then to max of 1600. Despite configuring ISO expansion, I cannot get ISO100 nor H. Hope someone can tell me what is the problem or how to solve this. Thanks! |

The sensor cleaning has no audible sound.
To get iso 100, make sure high tone piority is off. To get H you must set ISO expansion on.

yea its working.. unless you have superhuman hearing, don't think you can hear the ultrasonic sound..
think you turned on the highlight tone priority.. the zeros in the ISO numbers are small I presume?

REALLY APPRECIATE the help :-)
Now the 100-H ISO works after turning off the highlight. As for the Ultrasonic thing - Thats good to know. The reason why I thought that there should be some buzzing because my friend's 400D had it. It gave a reassuring buzz that the cleaning is working. But you all may be right that they have improved it to a level where there is no sound to the human ear. Once again, THANKS EVERYONE! :-) I am so very grateful!!!! Cheers |

btw if u choose clean the sensor manually, u will be able to feel the vibration. otherwise, the normal start up and shut down cleaning is not noticeable.

when I activated the manual clean function. No vibration what so ever save for the mirror clatter.
Does that mean its not working? |

manually instead of shutting off and on button.
Still on the clatter of the shutter once and no vibration. Does everyone elses' 40D lack the vibration or it just mine? Thanks again. |

as in from the menu? yea the shutter activates once when the cleaning is done, but other than that, theres no noticable vibration.. don't take the "shaking" off the dust too literally..
