Default Help! Lookin for a compact camera asap?

hmm, i was reading the reviews on the f50 and the f40 and still cant decide. Any other brands of compact cameras tat is better and valued for money compared to f50 or f40? its for my gf and i think she more towards using auto function to take pictures. i'm also looking around for f31 but i'm resigned to the fact that it is 'rare' nowadays.

aha.. i just bought a pns camera for my fiancee's birthday.. i think what a gal should be looking for is a compact, slim & Stylish camera. Put aside the MP size(since it really doesnt matter unless ur gonna blow up the picture) and the complexity of functions; the best camera for a lady would be the samsung NV3. To me that is. Since its silky black with a very nice feel/touch. Or u can try going for Nikon Coolpix s200. Slim and elegant.

I was split between both. But since Samsung NV3 came in black, i bought it for her as a present. It costs me $350 with 2GB Kingston card plus a very cute tripod & a screen protector.

Sim Lim Square bro.. =) hope this helps for ur decision making.

hmm.. first of all, is she ones who is particular about MP size? Cuz it only matters for blow up pics. A camera with 5MP or more is enough for a very good image print on a 4R.

In terms of picture quality, cuz i had to view it on the computer instead of the LCD screen, i would say the Samsung NV3. However, the difference is very minimal. And it so happened that i tried out the t-70 for the fun of it. Lol. Furthermore, i don really fancy Sony.

Anyway, its just my opinion. If im you, i would go for the Samsung NV3. Do u you know that it can even play mp3? lol.. she'll love it.

I reinterate the point on image quality, the best amongst the three is Samsung. Then again, its just my perception.

=) Did i also mention its user friendly? Fool/Idiot Proof.

why not try the Z10fd or Z100fd. Tried both, find that pix taken in the high ISO settings are acceptable

Am interested in buying the one of the Z series. Looks quite style. Read that the Z100 retails for what $499?

I am a Fuji user, however for a casual user like your friend, I suggest a Canon Ixus 860 IS instead. My reasons are simple. It is not just the features, functions and image quality of a camera that you ought to consider, but its aftersales service as well. So far, Canon offers one of the best services among most camera brands.

You can read my other reasons here.
