I did mentioned I am more than happy to pay more if you can proof your worth.

$10 is to start, and that assume I need to do the fix to the pictures, training to get up to the level I am delivering and that's why its $10.

I don't see many people getting paid $15-$20 per hour retouching here in Singapore for such a simple work without even need to travel. There isn't a penny to spend to start retouching if you have the appropriate computer system.

Hart

tink it depends on how much work is expected, what quality is expected, and who took the shot (professional? semi-pros?). i am doing retouching for my friend's wedding photos and paid less than macdo**ld in China!! :P if paid as what agetan is paying, i would fetch a neat $500 maybe.. hee.. of course, my friend's time frame is longer..

pai seh agetan, tight schedule, cant help..

But upz 4U!! :)

how much more are you willing to pay? lol you're paying less than $1 per image. i'll consider it if it's images i can just run thru a script.
but i wont do that cuz i take pride in my work. once i start on an image i wont stop until it's perfect.

how much do people pay you for your photography? much more right? (unless of course i'm wrong about that)

as a DI artist myself of course i get pissed at this kind of exploitation as you would if there's people asking you to shoot for $10 per hour. (unless i'm wrong again and you seriously shoot for that price)

i dunno man. at that rate he's paying, i can afford 10 retouchers working under me like monkeys for years and and sell the service for 10x the price. (which is the current market rate for DI artists)

Hi,

To clear up any misunderstanding... I am not paying $10 per hour....

I have mentioned, I am paying $10 per property which should takes 30 minutes to do, hence you are getting paid $20 an hour?? and again if you read the thread carefully, this is a STARTING PRICE!!! The maximum i will pay is $20 when the retoucher knows what to do!

Ok, if you do your math correctly, even if you work 3-4 hours a day, and if there are 100 property a month, its $1000 for the starting pay which means I have to spend my time TRAINING the retoucher and the time lost as well as for any **** up.

lets say if you go out and work for someone as a retoucher outside, you are getting pay sa $1800 a month as a starter, you are working 8-10 hours a day, spending commuting from work and back home 1-2 hours each day, so effectively, you are working like 10 hours a day and in a week, its a total of 50 hours minimum and if you divide that with the price you get as well as any expenses for commuting... I am sure you are getting less that what I paid.

This job is of course not suitable for a big retoucher who commands a lot of money...

I mean earning $1000-$2000 a month staying at home and work 3-4 hours a day is not a bad pay right? I don't think this is any exploitation at all. Exploitation by means of paying the same but work abt triple the time!!!

Please think twice and do your math before you even posting your comment.

Anyway, I have selected a retoucher and training is in place.

Regards,

Hart

Consider this thread close as a retoucher has been selected.
