    Default sunrise or sunsets

    hi all experts,
    i am currently using canon 350D. would like to check how to take beautiful sunrise or sunsets using the 350D. Thanks a lot.

    you don't need a special camera to take sunrise or sunsets.

    you need to be at the spot early, say about 30mins, set up your shots, make your composition, and wait.

    for me, I use manual mode, center weighted metering or spot metering, take meter reading around the sun but not including the sun.

    I fine tune the exposure after examine the LCD, as for WB, my favorite is using fluorescent.

    and you should have 10mins window to do the shots.

    Use RAW format, see which WB works for you. Mine is usually "shady".

    i would use a cpl and shoot in raw but mainly would tend to use fluorescent wb

    I used a tripod for the last few i took
    GND filters are pretty indispensable to me

    Sadly both photos are taken at Bali...... hard to find in S'pore a place without some building or stuff in the foreground.....

    I generally spot meter and shoot in raw with a preference for cloud for a more orange-like tone. or leave it in auto WB.

    350D is a good camera, so partial metering or try evaluative.

    Swissotel, they have a Christmas room promo. The shot was taken on the 55th Floor outside on the balcony. More images...
