Is there a Count down concert at Orchard Road today?

Christmas Eve Mass Caroling - On 24th December, the crowd at Orchard Road (between Scotts Road and Bideford Road) will be led by singers in a mass caroling session one hour before midnight. Plans are being made to link this mass caroling with two other locations in Singapore, and also to broadcast this event live on radio. For the first time, anyone anywhere in Singapore would be able to join in joyous caroling on Christmas Eve.


I only know of the Grand Christmas Concert on Christmas Day itself. Last year was also on Christmas Day.

Grand Christmas Day Concert - Fast developing into a Singapore Christmas tradition, a Grand Concert is planned for 25th December. Orchard Road will be closed to vehicular traffic from the junctions of Scotts Road and Bideford Road. The floats will be parked on the road in the afternoon for all to come onto the road for close-up views and photoshots.
A grand stage will be constructed across Orchard Road. From 7.30 pm to 10.30 pm, local and foreign artistes and celebrities backed by a choir will clmax the event with a scintillating concert – an event you will not want to miss!

Quote: For the safety of the participants and to facilitate traffic arrangements for the Grand Christmas Concert to be held along Orchard Road on 25 Dec 07, the following roads will be closed to vehicular traffic from 1pm on 25 Dec 07 to 1am on 26 Dec 07: Orchard Road (between Scotts Road and Bideford Road); and Mount Elizabeth Road towards Orchard Road (between Nutmeg Road and Orchard Road). Motorists are advised to avoid the abovementioned roads and the peripheral roads leading to the affected area. Police officers and marshals will be deployed at various road junctions to assist and regulate traffic. Motorists are advised to use Clemenceau Avenue North, Cairnhill Road or Orchard Link to access Orchard Road on 25 Dec 07. Public bus services affected by the road closures will be diverted from their original routes. Public bus inspectors will be stationed at selected locations to advise commuters on the diversion. Information signs will also be placed at the affected bus-stops. Enforcement action will be taken against the drivers of cars illegal parked along the peripheral roads. Vehicles found parking and causing obstruction will be towed away. Members of public may contact the organiser at 6837 0016 for further information on the event.
