    Question Who uses AF-On?

    Just out of curiosity...

Anybody using the AF-On with AI-Servo (or AF-C, or whatever your camera brand calls the continuous focusing drive mode) all the time?

How does the focusing accuracy of AF-On/AI-Servo on a static object compare to using the Single-shot focus?

I use the AF-on button all the time... cause I usually don't want to activate metering when I lock focus... focus results usually ok... also saves a bit of power when using stabilised lenses cause stabilization not activated on focus lock...

but on static object, I usually switch to single-shot... its only a flick of a thumb away...

Yeah... I was just wondering how accurate is the continuous focusing on the "first" lock before it starts to twitch, compared to single-focus mode.

therbk: Heh. I gave that up when I jumped boats... Now its a button and a turn of a dial (again) for me. Nikon's ergonomics are really something I miss.
