![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Anti riot gear located under the pedestrian bridge at Wanchai, HK. The same place where Korean farmers fought riot police. Democracy is prepared to silence cries... ... what's scary is that the gear are still there... today. Ready to take on another protest... silence another cry... ... freedom... my a**

I am NOT against any government policies and neither am I stirring the politicians' porridge pot. This is never my intention in my photographic works. This is probably something I want to make clear. But when a certain government wants to talk about "freedom" and at the same time points their finger at other governments and condemning them of "suppression of freedom" and then they do the same thing, this is when I get disappointed.
Singapore is not like that. You have "freedom with conditions" which is critical in balancing the fine lines within our multiracial society. And neither we point fingers and condemn others. Hardly you see cases where it is "Do as I say, but don't do as I do". Therefore, for countries that does that (quite a few I can think of)... yeah, freedom, my a**. . .

Too many mistake freedom for anarchy.
Being able to do whatever you want - that's anarchy. Freedom means that you're liable for whatever you do. Democracy has nothing to do with freedom whatsoever - it is a form of government. Anyway there is no definitive, universally-accepted definition of "democracy"; "true democracy" does not exist.
