    Default MOM salary report

have you guys read the 2006 salary report by MOM

    http://www.mom.gov.sg/publish/mompor...ages_2006.html

Since a lot of people is complaining about rising prices so I am curious how much an average singaporean earns.

I see my profession seems to be wrong leh. The numbers seem to be less than I think it should be. What do you guys think?

Anyway, it is quite an interesting read.

You mean according to this table?

    http://www.mom.gov.sg/publish/etc/me...ges_table3.xls
Mine below mean and median by work but ok by profession

How many percentage than you consider grossly under? +-20%? of per quartile?
    +-5% then yes?

up to you. I am thinking of a more subjective poll. First time I am reading this report. I mean everyday I see threads on price hikes, money no enough, etc. Now there are some "official" data on how much do singaporeans from all walks of life, age group, professions, etc, earns. Very detailed data.

actually the data makes me feel better after having dinner with my Sec School classmates last week, I was feeling pretty demoralised as my pay seems so low compared to theirs

The numbers isn't correct. Its beefed up to make Sg looks like a pot of gold so more talented ppl will come in and strive for the nation. Most likely, to import foreign ministers in the near future too.

So where do you propose is easy to be rich?
Places with lower standard of living would inevitably be harder to get rich.

i guess giving a pay rise of at least 15% (w/ no strings attached) would make any1 feel alot betta!
