frankly...it's a good idea...and yeah, everyone in CS will say that this is a good idea.
but the final artwork...boring... there's not much interaction going on. the only area of the artwork where i see interaction is on the left, between the man with snowcap on bicycle and the man nearest to viewer with head turn away. That area have sense of space, time, human related instances and bla bla bla. There's mystery and suspense there. But the other part of the artwork??? Plain boring. nonetheless...keep doing this... |

it is basically to illustrate the various responses of different people (in a japanese context) to the conspicuous presence of the camera, and the shadow is there to state your such presence. so is that what is supposed to mean, or is it something deeper than my comprehension?

i would think it is layering rather painstakingly done.. probably with a tripod, thoguh i can't tell from the shadow whether it is present.. then keep the exposure same, etc.. and hope that light conditions don't change. probably need a more busy place.
i don't know what eikin seeked to achieve with his artwork, and that is a point always running through my mind when we read all the critiques and write-ups about old poems, about ancient artwork - for all we know the maker could be laughing at it all from where is on high and saying NO NO NO YOU'VE GOT IT ALL WRONG. ![]() but anyways, that's a bit ot. what i find interesting is the way that the pictures are selected such that while people taken at different timings fill in different spaces, and "crowd" the picture as a whole. i think it's entirely possible that there were a lot more frames than this.. and these were selected just to be put together. maybe something about life, interaction, and unknowing interactions - perhaps ghosts of the past. but who knows? ![]() |

oops ... missed my own thread again
![]() haven't had the time and inspiration to do a second set, will see whether got time ... spring is a much better weather for such things as well ![]() i don't want to write out the exact intention of the set because it'll kill the ''fun'' some might find (self joke: luckily i didn't post in Critique Corner ) actually i've already ''kena reprimanded'' by a friend for posting the 6 individual shots, should have just left everything out except the composite piece. just some work leading up to a ''conclusion'' in the coming months, might develop the idea further, might make some turns ... see how it goes ![]()
