Default E510 Cable Release

Hey has anyone actually used the Olympus cable release on the E510, or does it only work on the E1?

Marky is incorrect. There are TWO different wired cable releases on the market from Olympus.

RM-CB1 has a round connector and is for the E-300 with the HLD-3, E-1 and E-3.

RM-UC1 is a USB style connector (additional pins on the USB connector) for the E-410 and E-510.

The E-500 & E-330 though can't use wired remotes (don't know about E-400), but you can use the wireless remote (RM-1) to do bulb mode.

The RM-1 wireless remote works with all the E-system bodies, but can only do bulb mode on the newer bodies (E-500 onward, but don't know about E-3).

Ah dang. Was hoping to set up a sniper perch and wait for things to wander into my sights. haha Looks like I'll just get the cheapo 3rd party infrared remotes and wait with a hand in front of the camera.
