1/250s f18, this is for #1 it was hiding in a shaded spot

1/200s f29, for the spider, shaded area

the D3 is a heavy beast and hard to hold really still

Just a question, having tried D3 ISO 3200 that kind of combination for macro shots, did you find it easier, faster and more comfortable/confident for the shots you have taken.

D3 has no self-cleaning sensor unit?

I think ortega is talking about noise reduction not sensor cleaning.

i only have a few days experience with the camera
so cannot really comment

but initial observations

1. D3 is heavy - more chance of camera shake
2. D3 is capable of clean hi iso shots, thus can increase shutter speeds to counter camera shake
3. D3 response is really really fast
4. D3 makes me look really pro
5. D3 don't have built in flash, so cannot trigger my R1 by itself

*saliva drips unconsiously*

Good pics as show case. U should take some Christmas lightings with the 14-24 on the D3, i'd like to see what that beast can do.

My question was with regards to the dust spot found on the photo. I initially thought all the new DSLRs from Nikon are equipped with sensor cleaning features like those found in Olympus.
