It caught me also, very nice short film. It really has that moods and reminds me of my childhood hobbies air-fix and was once wanted to play with others kids down under HDB. Used to cycle alone, when other kid want to borrow my bic, I request with the condition I could play with them. Very honest film.

Nice short film.......

my 2cents:
Perhaps u can add 2-3 flashbacks on the start and end of your story on what happened to the 'Kor'......this is to save audience from guessing too much....more clarity on ur story too....

No offense, but I couldn't watch it past the part after the actress dropped the brother's belongings on the floor. The long take on the terrible acting (her in panic) made it unbearable for me.

I've got two suggestions - you could cast a better actress next time, or work with what you can and do a series of jumpcuts. In doing so you can get around her acting, and also speed up the pace of the shot to better complement the music and the intended mood.

I hope I haven't been too harsh, but you need to be fair to your production team. So much hard work has been put into the production only to be spoilt by that one shot is a big waste of your time and effort. Likewise for the actress, that shot made her look really bad - maybe this wasn't her best take, see if you can find better takes for use in your edit.

To give an analogy - you can hire the best chef, use the best ingredients to make the best tasting soup but all it takes is a fly to fall in it and nobody will drink it. (ok maybe some people might, but you get the point)

I believe this is their first time producing and shooting..
so its really fine as long as they have a final video out - it is a great achievement

Once they get the hang of things, they should start worrying about things peapilot talks about.

I'm still gonna rant about dysfunctional singapore - who on this world isnt dysfunctional!?

Yes I'm sorry I overlooked that. It really is great effort and you guys have potential to do much better work. Don't give up.

Hobbes >> My own take on this is that we've been repressed and "shut up" for so long. We can't shoot political films and so the next best thing is a social commentary. I'm sure Singapore isn't all that dysfunctional, but when people make films they obviously have something to say, so it's only natural that the things people feel more strongly about get portrayed.

wow wasn't expecting so many replies haha. the other time i posted on my zouk video, i had no replies at all.

Yeah i agree that one long shot of her panicking wasn't that good and made it a little draggy. Wanted to do some jump cutting like i did in other scenes but i had to find a balance between the length, and the pace of the film, because i had to hit 10mins. So would have been better if there were no restrictions...i would have surely cut that out.
