Default Macro shots

C&C welcome
Please advice what kinds of settings of the D80 can be done to improve the picture quality. Thanks.

Nice shots. First one seems a bit too contrasty. Just my personal feeling. Maybe if the leave/cactus - whatever the gh was standing on - is less contrasty it'll bring out the insect more.

A lil less saturation I guess...

And it seems like you got some dust bunnies from the second shot. 2 spots on the top left side.

If you want comments on the setting, it will be good to state your settings taken.

These are not bad, the eyes are sharp. Try a lower angle, side on, or slightly front. back shots are usually not recommended unless there is something interesting you want to show.

Your grasshopper in the first frame is too vivid. I give my vote to the the last one- Butterfly.

Ah...the nick sounds familiar now....good to see you that day!

The stilt legged flies mating is nice, good focus on the eyes, but shadows are abit harsh.

JS pic is a nice top view of the head.
