me start off becos......wanted to take night scene^^+...

    so start with :

olympus mju wide 80 [$180 second hand]

but actual photography starts off with:
    A40....$430.

if u want to go digital i would recommend A60 for lower budget.
else second hand prosumer also can.

one reminder......budget also should include minmium the memory card^^

    if SLR.......maybe eos 300......
[second hand eos 300 abt $250.....comes with basic lens 28mm to 90mm if i'm not wrong]

    paiseh......i very canon one......dun flame me^^|

    as learning........one word..just "shoot"
    DSLR newbie: 400D + Tamron 18-200mm + 50mm F1.8 (i simply love it!)
    Canon G2

    brilliant idea rubic
can we make that a sticky on the newbies session and maybe titled something like "websites for photography " of something and can add more as we go along. i'm sure most newbies would find this very useful.
sorry, i NATO ( no action talk only) but i dunno how to make it a sticky so maybe one of the moderators or someone who knows can do it?
    many thks

One of the best things about forums is that we get to help one another, and receive help too. Anyway, how can I resist helping a fellow female, would-be photog!

dehuis, it'll be nice if we could have a sticky of good websites for newbies. I have more URLs for other areas of photography, like photojournalism, nature photography, antique cameras, camera manuals, etc. Not sure if I should post them too as it could get overwhelming. It'll be nice if other people can contribute URLs too, as I'm sure we all have different perspectives. Just make sure they're relevant for beginner to intermediate photographers, esp the former category. Perhaps the moderators can help?

I have marked this thread URL as favorite, so that i can come back to it and really scrutinise all the sites provided when i am done with exams ....

the only site i can add in here is actually good for underwater photographers. it lists out all the underwater housings suitable for all cameras (even cameras without underwater housings are listed here, so that you would know it is not omitted, but realy without housing) and you get to see sample shots.

    www.digideep.com

    hope divers find it useful
