    Default Total Depth Of Field???

    Hi
can anyone please help... when we use the DOF calculator we can find out the Hyperfocal distance, Near limit of acceptable sharpness, Far limit of acceptable sharpness & Total depth of field.
What is the use of the total depth of field figure or we can just ignore it? I mostly interested in shooting Portraits.

    Many Thanks

if u shoot potraits, high chance u can jus ignore hyperfocus distance and keep focus on the subjects eyes.

most potrait photos look better w shallow DOF, unless u are trying to create environmental potraits (showing the subject in relation to his/her surroundings).

Total depth of field = Far limit - Near Limit.
