Hi people, i am stuck in the dilemma for a few days already and hope to seek some advice here.
I am choosing between fuji S6500 and Canon S5 which I can get at 599 and 620 respectively. I love S6500 for its colour vibrancy and night shot capability, but its lacking in specs comparing to S5 especially without image stabilizer. With the marginal difference in price, i am finding myself hard to decide. Can any bros here give me some advice? ps: how good if S8000 using a super ccd and nicer design!!! |

S5 is 36mm to 420mm vs. S6500FD is 28mm to 300mm S5 has the swivel LCD, S6500 does not S5 has hotshoe, S6500 does not Main reason for switching is the wider angle, the twist barrel and the low-light capability. The S8000 is based on the S5700/5800 design, if you look closely. The Olympus SP-560UZ is another good cam. hehe . . . see my signature . . .

It's nifty and accurate ![]() And the lack of IS is a good training for me to practice the proper stance to maintain stability. BTW, you can still get the S6500 new? I had to get my 2nd hand - all the stores I visited said it's discontinued... |

yup the reason for me choosing S6500 is the low light capabilities that no other brands can compare
![]() i have been looking through the photos that all of you take and most of them are superb Harvey still selling S6500 but selected outlets and very limited stock. Though its more expensive, I know the perm staff inside and he said he will give me the best deal in term of free gifts. MS colour and Alan photo all not carrying them anymore. And I am leaving for my holiday on monday night so I have to get my new camera fast ![]() Last edited by raw84; 7th December 2007 at 07:14 PM. |

I used the SP560UZ at United Square for the Dora showand the low light was good, but the pics seem soft. Look the the Olympus thread under SP560UZ for the pics I posted.
