not bad for a newcomer, looks like the technique is good and you are getting reasonably sharp pictures. which lens are you using btw, #1 can go in closer. take note of your pp on #4.. i think you recovered too much highlights or something, it is starting to look too much like a water colour painting. resembling is great, but too much is bad

Interesting to see a lot of thinking put into the composition. #2 is the best, but seem like lack of DOF. Maybe a slight change of angle may help to capture that particular petal which seem to be in perpendicular position #4 - Flash seem to strong. Noticed you + EV compensation for this shot, why har? Maybe if minus, may help. To night86mare: can you elaborate on what u said about #4, abt the water colour painting? I catch no ball. Last edited by grumpy; 4th December 2007 at 12:08 PM. |

and just put everything to 100 here the effect is not so pronounced, but the background looks artificial, so does the foreground/subject, the colours are unnatural and not really what you'd normally see essentially the end result makes it look way too 2d than what you'd normally get |
