Mr Krdda and I visited T3 over the weekend... I thought it's overhyped but I am glad I paid S$1 at the end of the day.

refreshing shots from a place that i thought would be dry of inspiration. i'm sure you will get more praises from everyone else along the way, so i probably will just point out the rest. a few minor points for each picture, hope ts wouldn't mind comments/opinions from another new amateur
![]() ![]() ![]() struggling for perfect symmetry may be difficult and tedious, but that is where the beauty lies for such shots. ![]() DOF can be narrower. and correction of the tungsten color cast may make the shot more natural. Last edited by zoossh; 28th November 2007 at 12:16 AM. |

![]() compositional balance seems to tilt too much to the right, with the door on the right and the boy walking to the right, and the low yellow warning sign on the left. i believe it is taken candidly as the boy seems to just finish off drinking, can still see the water jet. as such, there is off focus for the boy and sharp focus on the wall. ![]() off focus. there is a mixture of indoor and natural lighting. if selective photoshop techniques is not too alien to you, you can try correcting the white balance to see if the end results works well (i'm not sure if it works but the current indoor lighting is a little too warm (and dim). ![]() foreground is a little cluttered. good thing is that there is probably less pressure for fast shoot. by right, a functional custom should not allow photography, which if presuming that is the case, i would understand why foreground is as such. but i think in this case, you can potentially get better shots. the man walking out of the frame on the right is the distraction and tension element and em. is it supposed to be "immigration" instead of "migration"? can mean a small point or a big point. ![]() in the end, i still feel like saying which one i like. good focus and DOF. (existing) lighting is good. good composition, esp for the two thick black diagonal lines. Last edited by zoossh; 28th November 2007 at 12:16 AM. |

Love the composition of the 1st one, Migration and the Sliding Door. They really stand out.
"Sliding Door" is a bit soft and the WB seem too warm. |

Thank you for your kind comments, night86mare! I am very flattered! I am sure there are also lotsa nice photos of T3 in the forums too!
Thanks Zoossh for the detail comments! I am always open for feedbacks as it's the best way to learn and improve. I had a hard time trying to capture the symmetry photos as most of the time I have very shakey hands and parallax error. But glad they turn out well after shooting more than 10 times at the same position for each photos. hahaha... Actually the "migration" picture... my initial caption for the image in my flickr is "Mass Migration". So I guess not putting caption on my photos here really make a great difference in the meaning of a photo. ![]() Hi Grumpy, thanks for your compliment! I have a thing for symmetrical images. The sliding door is a tad too soft I agree. I was holding my breathe very hard to make sure my hands don't shake but I still failed. Haa... Initially I thought T3 is just like any other airport, no longer feeling the excitement to visit, unlike those days when I am still a kid. (I actually kinda dread going, thinking it may be boring haha.) But I am surprise how they try hard to surpass T1 and T2 for being one of the nicest terminal (and I am very sure T3 will be top in rank when it officially operate next year). Some may not notice but there are alot of small elements in T3 that makes it a better place to stay in, instead of the usual stuff you get to see in any other airport terminal. I hope my photos will make you notice the small details the next time you visit T3. ![]() Good day! <3 |
