I am a new D300 user. Just purchased it yesterday. Excellent camera. Was amazed by the shots at ISO3200!

2 years back D200 is this price.. So just wait a couple of years D400 will be same price also.

Price is around $2700 with GST. Thats the price I got mine at. Varies a bit from shop to shop. I think $2700 without GST is a bit high. Works out to $2889 w/ GST

inside the box got coupon for free 70-200VR 2.8

Seriously.. the free gift now is from Nikon... the free CaptureNX software. Product key is in the boxes for dunno the first how many thousands of units worldwide.

Considering the software sells for around $200 (?) normally, not too bad a 'free gift'
