Tokina 11-16 f2.8

Hi guys, since the announcement of the above lens, is there anymore news about this lens? If you are interested, you can read here.

Saw the price and converted to be about S$1100, then street price may be $900 +-.....

f2.8 u mean... dunno if it is ever possible to have a zoom lens dats f1.8...

I think the mods might be able to help.

In any case, the zoom range seems awkward. It's neither here nor there.

Yah, if only its 11-18....but f2.8 is great, especially for indoor shots.

think it's suppose to replicate the FF 17-35/2.8 range. a reasonable WA for those not into ultra-wides.

Perhaps its to compliment the existing Tokina 16-50 f/2.8?

seems quite a weird lens. probably as metallian said to complement the 16-50mm.

but at $1100, it's quite a high price. i'd rather go for original canon 10-22. more range, but slower aperture is not really a problem for a UWA lens.

for dat u have to ask CP. they are the official distributors for tokina.

With such a short zoom range I wonder why they didn't just make it a 10 or 11mm prime instead.. That would have been cheaper, smaller and possibly better optically.

What is wrong with this lens? Looking forward to the new 11-16mm. Hope it is 10-16mm though

Tokina doesn't have a 50-150. They have a 50-135.
