Default Just join the S5IS

Hi All
Just got my Canon S5IS from Best Denki on friday, both my wife and I like the feel and picture quality of the camera. Got this camera to replace my Ixus 500 and also as a sceond camera other than my Olympus E500 dSLR.
Will try to post some picture when i start shooting, meantime is there any gathering for S5IS user to go out shooting?
Thank you.

Ya try some shot on my house scenery and the picture is nice & sharp.
Just found out that when using digital zoom the picture turn out to be nice & usable and not pixelated.
Will continue to try it out when curing my trip to Hong Kong Disney.
Thank you

I have try to make a comparison with Panasonic FZ18 at BD IMM this morning, the Canon LCD is not sharp compare to FZ18 but the colour and super macro i much prefer Canon. Nothing to compare with the price Canon selling ($699) with standard freebies and extra Canon Bag. Grow more and more to like about this S5is, no regret.

Don't care abt what LCD it gives as long as it's viewable. Ultimately it's the computer monitor that matters most as digicam LCDs usually aren't accurate in terms of true colour reproduction. If u really want the best, get those Spyder screen calibration software to get the most accurate results and get a gd monitor. Digicam LCDs are only for convenience.

S5IS has lots of potential even though it's not a DSLR.
u can find ways of manipulating it, and modifying it do get top quality photos,
esp. macro shots

Agree. It's impressive of what the S5 IS can do, only thing is the tele-end produces more purple-fringing.

Hi all, I also own a S5. Have recently added accessories such as polariser & uv filter and also a Raynox Telephoto Converter. Looking forward to shoot more photos with my new additions.

The super-macro mode's even more awesome, but only usable at the wide-end.
