Hi All
Just got my Canon S5IS from Best Denki on friday, both my wife and I like the feel and picture quality of the camera. Got this camera to replace my Ixus 500 and also as a sceond camera other than my Olympus E500 dSLR. Will try to post some picture when i start shooting, meantime is there any gathering for S5IS user to go out shooting? Thank you. |

Just found out that when using digital zoom the picture turn out to be nice & usable and not pixelated. Will continue to try it out when curing my trip to Hong Kong Disney. Thank you |

I have try to make a comparison with Panasonic FZ18 at BD IMM this morning, the Canon LCD is not sharp compare to FZ18 but the colour and super macro i much prefer Canon. Nothing to compare with the price Canon selling ($699) with standard freebies and extra Canon Bag. Grow more and more to like about this S5is, no regret.

S5IS has lots of potential even though it's not a DSLR.
u can find ways of manipulating it, and modifying it do get top quality photos, esp. macro shots ![]()

Agree. It's impressive of what the S5 IS can do, only thing is the tele-end produces more purple-fringing.

Hi all, I also own a S5. Have recently added accessories such as polariser & uv filter and also a Raynox Telephoto Converter. Looking forward to shoot more photos with my new additions.

The super-macro mode's even more awesome, but only usable at the wide-end.
