Hi,
I have a problem with my 580EX as this problem seems to occur more often now. The problem is that 580EX does not show ETTL and my camera kept showing F22 at 1/200 shutterspeed. When taken pictures, they are overexposed. I was using "P" setting at my 400D. My 580EX had change PCB before. After that, my flash had intermittence problem communicating with my 400D. I brought it back to CSC again and they told me that the contact might be contaminated. I had tried rubbing with rubber and cleaning with alcohol however the problem still persist. Does anyone had similar experience? And what can I do to get rid of this intermittence problem. Thanks. |

They should be nice enough to at least check the problem for you and remedy it w/o cost, if it's nothing serious. If it involves replacement of parts, then I guess you have to be prepared to pay for parts. BTW, the 580EX you're referring to is the first version right, not the mkII? |

Yes mine is the first version. Thank god, it is still under warranty however I am concerned that when they clean the pad and the intermittent problem might go away.
