i know both are diff class, but are the features worth the price.

think it up to oneself. try out both cam to see which you feel more comfortable with

cause some third pt lens do not have the af motor build in so cannot af |

if you are a casual shooter who has all the time in the world to frame a shot and adjust for exposure, d40 should suffice with its great price tag and simple operation. d40x has higher MP but if you are printing 4R size, basically you don't need it. |

but, if u want something akin to a prosumer, but with DSLR controls, capabilities and a feather-weight body, d40 is the clear winner.
