Default Green 'shadows' in photos when taking pictures of fire

    Hello,

Whenever I take photos with fire in the picture, there always seem to be a green 'shadow' of the flame displaced slightly away from the location of the fire in the picture. Anyone know the cause? I really dislike how it is ruining some of my shots.

I use a Canon 400D, kit lens with UV filter.

could be caused by the reflection from the UV filter.. Take the picture without the UV filter again and see if the green shadow still appears..?
