Hi,
This is the first time I post a Q here. I would be interested to know the actual image sizes recorded on Canon dSLR cameras. The only sizes I know of is the sensor sizes, which is not the same as the actual image area, since it also includes unused parts, not just the light sensitive area. For Olympus that size is given by the manufacturer, 17.3x13 mm, as opposed to the image sensor size, which is approx. 18x13.5 mm. I'd be greatful if somebody could give me the information. Please note, I am not interested in pros and cons of the one or the other brand, or discussions on advantages of one, or the other format. I am just interested in facts regarding actual image area on the sensors. I hope somebody has the facts. Please state your sources as well. Cheers.

Ranges from 22.2x14.8 to 22.7x 15.1 depeding on model.
Believe this is the effective size. |
