Took this pic. while on a walkabout around Chinatown.
Testing how much I can achieve out of just a single lens I was fascinated by the frame within a frame composition I come across. Also seeing the the devotee posture mirrors that of the roof shape , I grab this shot. Personally I think i should have use a lower angle to capture the apex of the roof. Maybe the colour saturation need a little bit of a boost. Perhaps I should crop a little more of the portion of the shot to keep it tighter [IMG] [/IMG] |

First thing that caught my eye...FLASH. I don't see why you should use the flash, the shadows casted on the interior is pretty distracting and unnatural.
Framing is not so good, you should step back and capture more of the entrance. For me, when is see this picture, my eyes were wandering about the picture looking for a focus or an idea but ended on the shadows casted by the flash. Regards, TK

yup.. the flash spolits it..
If shooting in Raw, you can adjust your exposure as well as fill flash in Lightroom which might help in this case. |

my thought.
when i first saw the tittle Prayer i was expecting the person praying much closer to the camera to fill at least most of the area of the picture. for this picture the person is a little too small. yes and since you snapped the shot in day time a flash wasn't needed. there should be enough light for a good shutter speed. |

Now that all of you have pointed out the shadow creation by the flash, certainly, the more I look at it the more distracting it is.
For the point of focus, indeed the person praying is too small in the frame... as I was trying to capture the door framing. Will definitely pop by to give it another try with the advices in mind. Thanks to all of you. |

bad shot i think. 1stly the flash just kill's the picture. then next its slanted. then ur subject (i ASSUME is the guy praying, since ur title is prayer) is non-descript

the shot doesn't work,
#1, the frame itself getting more attention, red and bright. #2, the subject too small. anyway, framing is to draw viewer's attention to the main subject, and does not need to be go round four sides, for this example, if you place the subject in between two pillars as framing, it will still works. hope this help. |
