Hi there,
If you want to loan a lens, you can look under Services Offered / Wanted corner. Thread moved from Night Photography to Services Offered / Wanted Section.

first, you should check if photography is actually allowed. also, if photography is allowed, is flash allowed also or not. this can make a big difference to lens selection.
if flash not allowed, next question is how far away are you. if you are in the standing section or very close to stage, then 70mm or thereabouts may be enough. but if you are seated further away - anything upwards from 20metres away from stage, then you may need to consider hiring something longer e.g. 135mm F2, or a 70-200 2.8. in any case , if no flash allowed, you need big aperture lens i.e F2.8 or less ideally. this is to allow sufficent shutter speed. also, big aperture lenses focus better in low light conditions than variable aperture ones. even if flash allowed, ur puny on board flash CMI. you will need to get a external flash e.g 580EX. for the last concert i attended, i used 300mm F2.8 (had to mount on tripod but was quite doable). borrowed from peridotpix. its a damn big hunk of glass (had to tell person sitting in front of me to be carefuly standing up as it projected over his head, but it got the pictures that i needed.) |

Well... that would depend on the security
![]() Some enforce the no-camera rule *very* strictly by rummaging through your bags. Making a pass with the 'magic wand' and all that. Maybe you can shove the pns into your underwear ![]() And then if you get through the entrance, you might still have to end up playing hide and seek with the security INSIDE.

oh hmm poor thing.....i guess casual shooters they dun mind.....damn wished i chose the center standing area tix instead, got the side ones with seats instead, saw those ppl in the center had so much fun, also the sound wasnt so good at the sides, felt like we were listening to 'echo' as the speakers were pointed to the center area mostly, but it was very very loud 'echo', the center ppl had all the fun and better sound......was my 1st concert, will learn from this 'lesson'....

u bring in a DSLR.. unles u hide it damn well. confirm u will get rumbled.
i agree its a bit discriminatory cos i have been to these concerts and everyone with their compacts are merrily snapping away... but as others have said.. just do what u want. dont get caught.. |
