Default Theemidhi (Firewalking Festival)

Theemidhi or Fire Walking Ceremony/Festival honours Goddess Draupadi, heroine of the epic poem "Mahabarata" and deified by the Hindus of South India as Draupadi Amman.

I like the B&W version too!
I just collected some more photos today. See if they're vibrant enough?

1 year later.
It was a great experience taking photographs of this event from midnight to noon the next day.

Thanks for sharing. These are awesome. Your pictures have a very compassionate, personal slant, which I like. It's not easy to photograph people up close, especially guarded Singaporeans.

I would have liked to see a greater DOF in pictures like #35, 13, 6, would have given them a bit more context, i think.

I also like that you don't flaunt your equipment models! Ha ha.

I'm guessing you used film, and being them to a shop to scan? Which is why the comment about lack of colour vibrancy.

Doesn't matter, the way you shoot is excellent, and colour can always be photoshopped/ lightroomed! :-D

Thanks for viewing.
You're the only one to comment on this year's images so far, I appreciate it.

Well, I rather talk about photographs than equipment. I want to know how I can improve through critiques.

I shot this year's event with digital only. Last year, I used both film and digital formats.

Yes, for film, after processing, the lab will scan them for me and I will edit using photoshop after getting the photographs back.
