Default Small tripod to support DSLR

Hi All.

Anybody can recommend a small tripod which can support DSLR and lens (I'm using D200 & 18-200 lens) ? Small means : total length when stored is ard 20 to 30 cm.

Aiyoh, looks solid, but I'm looking for small three-legged pod. Anyone can recommend ?

Maybe you can check out Manfrotto Table Tripod, http://www.manfrotto.com/Jahia/site/...lsf=69&child=3

Although link only shows the Tripod with ballhead, there is another straight extension that can raise the height of tripod by another ~10inches.

You have to gauge total support weight yourself.

I'm using the Velbon Ultra Luxi F. Pretty flexible, can unscrew center column if you need to do low work, legs open all the way. Most importantly...light and fits in backpack. This thing also reaches to many peoples' eye level without center column extension.

try the Gitzo 1158 traveller if you can afford it. won't go wrong. Markins Q3 ballhead would be a good combination.

D200 is a pretty heavy body, and 18-200, while it's convenient, is not exactly the lightest lens around either. You'll be hard pressed to find a small one that'll take the weight.
