Default New to IR give comments

Hi Guys,

I was trying our the IR photo with a P&S camera, and here are two photos which I need some feedback whether it is correct.

Picture 1
Custom WB: Using the green patch at setting
Filter: Cokin P007, holding in front
Post Editing: Blue and Red channel and contrast.





Picture 2
Custom WB: Using filter P007
Filter: Cokin P007, holding in front
Post Editing: None

i think the original photo is slightly underexposed

try autolevels and autocolours in photoshop, sometimes it works

i'm in school now, so cannot play with it for you, sorry

You can follow the steps below:-

AutoLevel
Channel Mixer - swap btw Red and Blue channel
Hue/Saturation - desaturate red,magenta,yellow and play with the master hue to get the desired colour effect

Select sky and apply guassian blur to remove some noise, if necessary.

BTW, which P&S compact did you use? The result looked good.

I have cannon 350D, so what is the settings to create in order to have infrared photo ?

Like how long the exposure,how big aperturn and ISO no?
