    Well Well..

If 2WO Henry thinks that he is still highly employable, Why bother to write a letter to the STforum? Have anyone thought about why he took so long to get to 2WO. I've got a friend who is already a 2WO at the age of 30. I'm not saying that SAF should be ungrateful to these old specialists, but whenever i go back for my reservists, all i see these regular inceks doing are idling and practising lips and eye power.

I think you missed the point. They were promised a late retirement age, and not kena early retirement.

That is different form being fired - if he was fired, then serve him a termination letter. Not an early retirement transition whatchamacallit.

Yeah. And the fact that they were idling might be due to the organisation's fault.

That's strange because the design registration was only filed in 2006....
Yes, such mobile CPs are in place when I was NSF. Once, it was even deployed just at my coy line. Div commander was in.

Back then, it was on a 3-tonner and has similar features, ability to open and convert into an office/conference space. Of cause, those days were CRTs, not LCD screens and have a big projector and screen. But no air-con. In short, what you have in an office, its there and we can link it all up.

Design registration, I have no idea when is it filed but when it come to such things, I guess SAF and DSTA will normally fine tune till its near completion stage before filing for anything or put a date on it.

There are other stuffs that are in various stages of design and tests but not finalised.

i've seen it before in the early 2000 as well. I was quite surprised why the heck they took an ancient equipment and show case as 'new'.

sad that 2WO Henry took 32 years to realize it. It is never about how hard you work but how good your relationship with superior officer is.

Looks like SAF is starting to run their organization like a business.

    Bottomline comes first!

    let's not anyhow whack WO

in my time in the army, there was a mix, good and bad, same goes for everywhere

but i think one common thing that we can agree on is that the organisation needs some serious screening and trimming

Agreed. Bad sheep appears everywhere, Army, civilian, public sector or private sector etc.

But some people stay too long in the army & cannot adjust themselves outside. Went back for ICT, saw some NUSAF who were ex-regulars who still need to depend on SAF after 20++ years or else cannot earn a living.

Not all officers are bad. My OC was one on the ball and kind fellow. Came to work sharp at 830am and often OT till late. After he got married, we literally "kicked" him out of the office to go home to his wife. Told him "Sir! You are no longer bachelor.. go home!"

Often when cooks awol or had problems, he would drive back to camp and counsel them. Go road march, he wait till entire company taken food and drink then he take his. That is what I call a leader.

The Army is not a business entity and it's HR policies have no place trying to emulate them 100%.

Loyalty is a trait you expect to find, and be reciprocated as well. Not let go as part of some KPI.

i find it amusing that we often question the authencity of what we see on the news

but when it comes to news of a negative nature

the blind faith that is shown is disturbing

it is as if we, as a nation, at least represented on this tiny little thread, embrace negativity without a moment's thought
