Flashes use Guide number while Strobes use Power (Watts) to determine their maximum output...

How to convert Guide number to Power (watts) ???

You buy me one light meter lor... It is useful to know the maths behind yah...

For example, SB-800 guide number is 38 at 35mm zoom head, I want to find out how many watts equivalent it is compared to a strobe...

There should be guide number for studio strobes too. Look in the specs sheet, you should see it there.

Ws and guide number are measure of different things. You may not be able to convert directly.
