Hi,
Need some advise on rechargeable batts for use in cold weather. I need some for my flash which needs 4 rechargeable batts for use in temp range from 15 degrees to -5 degrees. TIA! kiana |

A somewhat "simple" solution" would be "heat pack" sorts of things that could be wrapped up against your camera or flash and might do the job.
You would still need Good AA Rechargeable NiMH that can last example: MAHA Powerex IMEDION 2100mAh Maha PowerEx 2700mAh NiMH AA Rechargeable Batteries Or you could consider Energizer Lithium AA that Performs in even the most extreme temperature from -40 to 140 degrees F. |

keep an additional set of batteries under your jacket and swop batteries when the coldness starts to slow down the set in your flash.

Another way around is to have a pack of lithium cells on standby as suggested here. Lithium rechargeables like those Lithium-Ion batteries from Canon and Nikon do reasonably well in weather down to about -32 degree C. You still can get at least 50% of the normal capacity/lifespan out of them. |
