Default 3rd Party Batt Grip and Other Stuff

I was at the Imaging Exhibition today and saw for the first time products from Jenis. Given that the Canon battery grips are such hot products, and that these guys produce 3rd party batt grips with additional features such as infra red trigger etc at only S$150 a piece, I think it's worth a mention to you guys.

Check out their website for their other stuff.

Is the batt grip for 30D available in Singapore? What is the price?

Saw there were addition buttons & LCD display on the grip, what are the function of the addition buttons? What does the LCD display?

The website doesn't have in-depth details on these.

from cnet aisa

ts latest Super Model battery grip has a card reader function. That's right. There are two CF card slots on the back and side of the grip, so you can spend more time shooting and less time swapping cards.

A Jenis spokesperson claims that the company already has prototypes for six camera models, but was unable to furnish us with retail availability dates or prices.

The list of supported cameras:
Nikon D80
Canon EOS 5D
Nikon D200
Canon EOS 400D
Canon EOS 20D
Canon EOS 30D.

interesting read. but with CF cards hitting 8gb and even 16gb.. does one require dual card reader slots?
given that cameras like 5D only have a 3fps shooting rate, surely even shooting in raw with the fastest card eg. Sandisk Extreme IV is fast enough?

Could be an insurance against one card failing...

But is their product trustworthy? Meaning will it cause the cam to fail?
