Default Testing of Lens during Purchase

Hi.. normally when buying lens right, you guys will test them, correct?? then are the lens that the sales persons open new or opened before? in doing a couple of lens comparison, if you are not buying, they will keep them back, so the next person who test them will be actually testing the same lens, albiet it'd been opened before, though not used at all... how you guys see such situation?

Well, if the lens is only tested, i guess it should be ok. In any case, it does not mean that the lens will definitely not be sharp on my camera. So its ok.

The lens mount will show if it has been severely used/tested before. If you're not satisfied that the lens is a "new" one, can always request another copy.

Some shops would pull stunt and say that "this is the last piece". So it also depends on how urgently you need the lens.

agree, dont be too anal. You yourself will also be doing the same thing, you will also be testing and may not buy it, so what's the verdict?

Interestingly, i seems to always notice many "auntie" tends to get their stuffs in supermarket in a funny way.....they always get the items behind or underneath the outer most items displayed.

I mean what's wrong with the items that are being displayed at the outermost location?

Try doing this when buying a camera or lense, and you may end up being chase out of the shop....

Put yourself in the sellers point of view, and you'll understand his side of the situations.

Just to share and be fair.

Another observation is the milk packets on the shelves. Normally, those with later expiry dates will be placed further behind.

most shops usually just take 1 of the thing that u requested for that is most accessible to them if they have more than 1 in stock. basically no such thing as display set and for marks on the mount, they will use a cotton bud to clean it up after u tried it anyway.

i dont care if its been tested before.. as long as.. when i test. im happy with it, ad it still looks brand new condition then thats good enough for me.

otherwise, the shop has no choice but to say, no testing at all, whch i would not want anyway
