Came across this call for photos that reflect Singapore for this book to celebrate NDP. Got prize!

Writing in to say what makes them Singaporean and/or
Sending a photograph, drawing or cartoon that expresses their Singaporean-ness

Photographs should be sent in 4R size in a glossy print. Transparencies should be originals or first generation duplicates. Digital images must be in TIFF format of 300 dpi. Drawings and cartoons should be at least A4 size.

I hope to snap a ultra long queue of singaporeans queuing up and a big sign showing 'FREE' in the picture as well.

all i want to take is fireworks!!!! my dream photos....take fireworks without the blarrrdeee smoke...

YES. i remember one particular image fixated on my mind... the f16 flying low, zooming past the water front background and zooming over the marina open patch.

that's what i want to capture.

I'm also sian of NDP, after being involved in 2 and one of them didn't go to plan. I do like the feeling and pressure feel of the planes flypast though

Think we'll be needing a 50-10000 lens

hmm they need a TFF file with 300dpi

my question is how to convert a JPG file taken with a digicam(not too sure what the dpi) into a TIFF file of 300dpi using adobe photoshop?

Save it as TIFF. That's it. The 300dpi part is confusing, 300dpi at what size? 3" x 2"? 30" x 20"? 15" x 10"? Anyway, I think at least 1800 x 1200 (4x6" at 300dpi) would be good enough.

Singaporean are KS....not kiasu, kiasee (dunno how to spell) but Kia-SARS

may be we can go in this direction
