would u risk a body with NO warranty...esp when it starts to show 'camera error' ?

agree with dewa.. it HAS happened and will happen to other a700s... don't risk it.. at least not for the body..

lens still can be covered by tourist warranty...Only LENS...

btw what has the lens go to do with the camera body?

If you want to try getting from oversea, can try Malaysia and get the tourist warranty. Bought my A-100 from KL last year and at that time got 18 months warranty promotion. Sent in my A-100 to SSC after 1 year for grip and general servicing, no problem. Need to show both the tourist warranty card and receipt as they do not have oversea records in their system.

To be sure, best to check with SONY Singapore and see what they say, they may change warranty ruling anytime.

If SONY offers international warranty like Olympus does then it does not matter where u buy it from... but if they choose to segment their market, then their warranties will be region-limited which means u have to ship it back to wherever it came from...
