having some questions about the difference between the 2 types of filters.
also are both usable on a film body? since its "digital" is it optimized for cropped sensor so on a film body it wouldn't work as well? please advice! ![]() |

What are digital filters? Pardon me, I only know of lenses optimised for cropped sensors, and digital filters in the form of filters in photoshop...

i think TS is refering to filters for film cameras and for digital cameras
FYI there is no such thing as filters for film or for digital they can all be used you just need to get 1 with the correct thread size |

because a sensor itself is quite reflective..hence the difference..but both types are usable..

supposedly the digital filters cost more than the conventional ones. ie. pro 1 D from hoya which is designed exclusively for digital camera which claims to prevent reflection on sensor. my question is whether these filters will function the same as conventional filters on film body.

Doesn't anybody smell a marketing rat? The filter people are seriously threatened with going out of business, hence they pscycho the consumers into thinking they need "digital" filters!

How can the filter be optimised for a digital sensor? The rays pass through the lens after going through the filter.

The link is just trying to psycho people to use filters rather than post processing. So that Hoya will not go out of business...
