    Do you mean LaTeX? Then see e.g. http://www.latex-project.org/guides/. If you have a lot of references, it's probably worthwhile to use BibTeX (http://www.bibtex.org/).

    Oh thanks. Am having trouble converting my research and project report from .doc to .tex

    If your report is going to expand to any substantial length, it's probably less trouble than trying to write it in Word.

    Have a look at http://www.tug.org/utilities/texconv/pctotex.html. I doubt though that it will help much with references or result in a well-structured document without manually revising the result.

    Thanks. Problem is my report is in word and now they want us to give it to them in LaTeX
