Default Point Loma Light House

A local landmark here in San Diego. A fortunate moment to capture. The "light" is the sun reflecting off one of the glass panes in the tower and interesting clouds helped it a lot too. Shot in black and white and infrared. All I needed to do was to adjust the levels (brightness/ contrast basically) and add some tinting. I did do a little cropping and straghtening the image but it looks like it had a lot more photoshop than that.

The white clouds in the middle just were that way. It almost looks like the light is blowing the tree backwards.

Nice composition...

I agree with vortex that it is a little dark... but its does give a gloomy atmosphere...

Looks ok to me. Very nice. Love the way the clouds and the tree looks. They almost remind me of a surfer surfing on the sea.

beautiful, very broody mood

if only, only, you could have chopped down the tree to the left of the picture that is sneaking in, then it'd be perfect
but at least it's almost perfect

Fantastic effort, though I feel if you had given a little more space on the left and right of the frame it would have been perfect.

Thank you for the comments. The IR scene is completely different from the color version- the sky was blue with some white clouds and the sun poking under them to light the building. More post-card looking. The IR made it more dark and moody. A couple more shots from the same day:

With Bushes:

And cliff- the cliff is less than a meter high- perspective makes it look much bigger. I was trying to block out views of the roads around the lighthouse to make it look more isolated.

Thanks for sharing... I like the "moody" effect.

Cheers!
