Perhaps you can try using the Ixus 330's long shutter function and crank up the ISO sensitivity, and see what happens.

Use a tripod, set ur cam to manual mode and set a long shutter speed + smaller aperture. Set the self-timer, snap.
Btw, use the lowest ISO possible to avoid noisy images. |

IXUS 330 don't have manual mode Clarenz, I'm not that sure but you can try this. - Set your camera to auto-record mode (the one with the camera symbol w/o the "M") - Switch off the flash - Set your camera on the tripod - Use the 2 second self-timer to trigger the shutter. Show us some pictures after you tried. |

In a recent (ok, a few months back) talk by John Cosgrove at Objectifs, he gave one tip of shooting night scenes on dumb cameras - set the Landscape mode. This sets the smallest aperture and thus gives a longish exposure time. Not sure if the Ixus has scene modes but worth a try.
Then follow the other tips up there about using tripod and self-timer. Regards CK |
