    Default How to increase brightness?

Hi all, i'm trying to capture photo of people in a dark area, maybe something like a backlane and more than 20 metres away, beside using flash, bigger aperture and higher ISO, what are the other adjustment i can make without getting a blurreed image of the people moving around? Paiseh, very new to night photography. TIA

    lets put flash aside 1st.

iso, aperture and shutter speed work hand-in-hand (reciprocal) to get the correct exposure.

in a dark environment, one use hi iso, big aperture, hoping to get a hi enough shutter speed to prevent picture blur, which can be due to 1) hand shake, 2) subject moving.

note that accurate focusing also becomes more important due to the shallow depth of field, inherent w big apertures.

alternatively, u can use a tripod and record the ppl in the scene as blurry images. many times, the blur (human) and sharp (other static elements) makes interesting pictures.

Apart from all of the above, you can also shoot RAW and then 'push' the result during the RAW conversion (N.B. This method may signficantly increase noise, particularily in the shadows...

    oh, one more thing.

try v hard to DUN shoot when its dark!!! or at least not when its totally dark. good night scenes are NOT shot at night, but rather the magical 10 min between day and night.
